Free admission for Veterans Day 2019
Columbus Zoo and Aquarium: for Free admission to the Zoo for Veterans and current Military members, and their immediate families on Monday, November 11.
Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden: All members of the military will receive FREE admission to the Zoo on Veterans Day. The offer also allows military personnel to purchase up to six (6) half-price admission tickets for members of their immediate family. Military personnel who qualify for the free admission ticket and discount offer for family members include active military, retired military, National Guard, veterans with honorable or medical discharge and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps with government issued ID. Wexner Center for the Arts: Free gallery admission (always) for veterans and active military members in support of Vets at the Wex, an ongoing public program that works with veterans and their loved ones, many living with the symptoms of traumatic brain injury or PTSD. Just show military or veteran ID. Free admission for military at Newport Aquarium: November 11 to 17, 2019. Active or retired member of the military, a disabled veteran, military reservist, or anyone who has ever served in the Armed Forces, just show your Military I.D.* at the Newport Aquarium ticket window to receive your free admission. Accompanying family members and friends can receive discounts of $3 off adult and $2 off child (ages 2-12) admission. Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad invites veterans, active military, first responders, and their family members (limit 4 total) for a complimentary two-hour round trip through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park on November 11. Enjoy the scenery and ride the rails through the park. A concession car will be made available throughout the duration of the train ride. A Color Guard demonstration will be held at 9:45 a.m. at Akron Northside Station and 10 a.m. at Rockside Station. Upon boarding passengers will be served water and a treat. In addition, free parking will be provided for the month of November.
Colonial Williamsburg -- Military families can receive a free admission ticket during Veterans Day weekend.
National Parks: FREE admission for all on November 11.
Stan Hywet Hall - To show our appreciation, and because we are closed on Mondays, we are offering complimentary slf-guided tours to all veterans and members of the military on Sunday Nov. 10. Please present your military ID upon arrival. The hall is located at 714 North Portage Path Akron OH 44303.
LEGOLAND Florida: All veterans can get free admission to LEGOLAND Florida from Nov. 1-25 this year. They may also purchase up to six guest tickets at a 50 percent discount. Plus, on Nov. 11, visiting veterans can also receive a discount on food and other deals. Find more information here.

BJ’s Restaurant: On November 11 all military members who dine-in restaurant receive a complimentary entree up to $14.95 plus a free Dr Pepper beverage by presenting a military ID or proof of service.
Bob Evans: Free meal on November 11, 2019. California Pizza Kitchen: Veterans and active military can get a free meal from a limited menu, which includes pizza, entrée salads, or pasta.

City BBQ: Free lunch for veterans and troops on November 11, which includes a free sandwich, 2 sides, and a drink for dine in or carry out. Other deals for Veterans Day 2019 True REST Float Spa Free Session. On Monday, November 11, True Rest Float Spa will offer a free, 60-minute float to any active-duty military member and/or veteran. Nearby locations are at Easton and Powell. Additionally, True REST Float Spa is running a Veterans Day promotion for civilians. For every True REST Float Spa float therapy session purchased between Oct. 21- Nov. 11, an active duty personnel or veteran will be gifted a free floatation therapy session. Veterans Yoga Project -- The Sixth Annual Veterans Yoga Project Gratitude Week will feature hundreds of teachers hosting Yoga classes November 8-18, 2019 to thank veterans for their service to the country. The week-long event is designed to call attention to trauma-related conditions and the power of yoga as a tool for healing. T-Mobile -- As Veterans Day approaches, T-Mobile announced that, starting November 1, active-duty military and veterans can get 50% off the latest Samsung smartphones, including the new Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+. This is in addition to their Magenta Military plan, which includes 50% off family lines, available to military, veterans and their families year-round.
Verizon -- As Veterans Day approaches, Verizon announced that active-duty military members, Reservists, cadets, Gold Star families and veterans can receive a 1-year membership of Amazon Prime when they add a new line of service. These customers are also eligible for Wireless and Fios discounts. The offer will run from October 24 to December 2. This is in addition to their year-round discounts on plans and accessories.
Planet Fitness -- Veterans and active military personnel can work out for free from November 8 through 15. In addition to full access to club services, veterans and active military personnel are invited to bring a workout buddy at no additional charge and relax after they work out with free HydroMassage and chair massages.
West Virginia State Parks -- Military personnel who have served or those currently in reserve or active-duty get 50% off regular lodge and cabin rates on stays between November 1 through November 15. Presentation of military or veteran status will be requested upon check in.
MVCTC Veterans Day Special. In honor of Veteran's Day, Monday, November 11, any veteran is welcome to our cosmetology lab for a free haircut, manicure, or pedicure, along with dessert/coffee from our culinary lab. November 6: Columbus State Community College Veterans Day. This year our Guest Speaker is Mr. Sean McCarthy, Deputy Director of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services. This event will take place in the Central Courtyard near Franklin Hall. The ceremony will be held at noon.
November 6 - Vanguard Leader Voices author visit, Matt Nicol will sign copies of his book "Seize The Night", 0730 at the Clintonville Panera.
November 7 - CSCC Veterans Resource and Assistance Fair, 1100-1400, Columbus State Community College, Columbus.
November 7: Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, 10 a.m., Radiant Life Church in Dublin. Free to attend.
November 8: Columbus Veterans Day Parade. The theme of this years parade is “The Greatest Generation” celebrating the 75th anniversary of D-Day this year and the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII next year. The parade steps off from Nationwide Blvd and High Street the parade kicks off at noon and ends at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. U.S. Marines are collecting new unwrapped toys for Toys-for-Tots program at the end of the parade.
November 9 - Honor Flight Columbus Welcome Home, 2030 at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport.
November 9: Free community screening of the film Sgt. Stubby, 10 a.m. at the Strand Theater in Delaware. The animated film is about the real-life story of the WWI regimental mascot who became the first and most decorated war dog in American history. Presented by the AMVETS Post 102/American Legion Post 115.

November 9: Veteran's March & Ceremony, downtown Canal Winchester at 10 a.m. *A free pancake breakfast will be offered at 8:30 A.M. at the Frances Steube Community Center for veterans and their immediate families.
November 9: The Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., Ohio Chapter 10 is hosting a free dinner for Veterans and one guest on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. It will be held at Mills Memorial Church, 402 N. Broad Street, Lancaster, OH 43130. The facility is handicap accessible. This dinner is to honor our veterans for their service to our country. The menu will consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, coffee/tea/water and dessert. There will be musical entertainment. The space is limited to 50 veterans with one guest each. November 10: Five Mile Run and Walk to honor America’s heroes at the National Veterans Memorial and Museum. It starts at 0900 in Genoa Park and will finish atop the museum in Columbus.
November 10: 2-3:30 p.m. In honor of Veterans Day, a walking tour of Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington will bring forward the stories of some of the veterans buried at the cemetery. 1,334 veterans are buried in Walnut Grove. The Veterans have a flag holder that is provided by the Veterans Association that denotes the war in which they served or if they served during peace time. There are Veterans from the War of 1812 through the Persian Gulf War represented in Walnut Grove.
November 10: Delaware Veterans Day Parade, 3 p.m., starts at the county fairgrounds and ends at Ohio Wesleyan University.
November 10: Veterans Day 1940s Era Ball, Clintonville Woman’s Club, 7-10 p.m. A Veteran's Day salute to the music of the WWII Era Big Bands: Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Xavier Cugat and more. November 11: Hilliard Veterans Day Parade: November 11 from 7-8 pm. The parade will step off from The Franklin County Fairgrounds (GATE 4 on Northwest Parkway at 7:00pm). The parade will proceed West on Northwest Parkway, South on Avery/Main Street, West on Cemetery Road to Scioto Darby Road and South on Veterans Memorial Drive, where it will conclude with a short ceremony at the Veterans Memorial at Roger A. Reynolds Municipal Park.
November 11: Veterans Day Ceremony, 3 – 4 p.m. 439 Main St, Groveport Town Hall, Groveport.
November 11: The City of Dublin Veterans Day Ceremony, in partnership with the Wesley G. Davids Dublin Post 800 of the American Legion, will host its annual Veterans Day ceremony Monday,
November 11, 2019, at 11 a.m. in Veterans Park. The ceremony will honor our country’s veterans, with remarks from City officials. Veterans and their families are invited to enjoy a complimentary breakfast at La Chatelaine, 65 W. Bridge Street, prior to the ceremony. The Grounds of Remembrance in Dublin Veterans Park is located at 77 N. High Street just north of the Dublin Library. Free parking is available in the Indian Run and Darby Street parking lots, or the Library garage.
November 11: Powell’s annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Greater Powell Veterans Memorial in Village Green Park, located at 47 Hall Street. The program will feature a keynote speaker, music and more. A complimentary luncheon will be held in the Powell Municipal Building East Room for all veterans and military personnel as well as their family members and friends. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be moved inside to the Municipal Building Council Chambers.
November 11: The Westerville Senior Center will hold a pancake breakfast in honor of area Veterans on Monday, November 11. This event is free to Veterans and $5 for all others. November 7: Honoring All Those Who Serve program, including a flag raising ceremony and joint color guard from the Army and Air Force ROTC programs on the Student Green at Risman Plaza at 10:45 a.m. A Veterans Day Commemoration begins at 11 a.m. in the Kent Student Center Kiva.

November 11: Veteran’s Day Ceremony in Blue Ash. The public is invited to the largest Veterans Day Ceremony in Southwest Ohio on Monday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m., at the Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Blue Ash. The event features a memorial ceremony, tolling of bells,
music from the Ohio Military Band, and keynote speaker Mark Murdock. Following the ceremony, the public is invited to a luncheon at the Blue Ash Recreation Center, 4433 Cooper Road.
November 11: Anderson Township Veterans Day Dinner. The Patriot Center in Anderson Township once again is the place to be for a special free Veterans Day Dinner on Monday, Nov. 11. Sponsored by the Anderson Township Veterans Memorial Committee, the evening includes a complimentary dinner for veterans, courtesy of Belterra Park and Mt. Washington Care Center, a cash bar and a live performance by “The Veterans of Comedy”. The center is at 6660 Clough Pike, a venue owned and operated by Post 318 of the American Legion. The dinner is open to Anderson Township veterans who may bring one other attendee for free. Reservations are first-come, first-served up to 200 attendees.
November 11: Vietnam veteran and Operation Desert Storm volunteer Bob Hamilton is the keynote speaker for the 65th Veterans Day Commemoration Monday, Nov. 11, at 10:45 a.m. in the atrium at the Downtown Main Library. Hamilton’s talk is part of an annual celebration dedicated to the men and women who serve our country. The event also features musicians from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra performing the armed service songs from each military branch: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, and participation from local veterans groups. Veterans receive a commemorative keepsake, while supplies last, and light refreshments will be served.
November 10-16: Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum honors our Veterans with Flags of Honor, Nov. 10 – 16; 100 3’ x 5’ sponsored US flags will be placed along the roadways within the cemetery and will be on display the entire week of the Veterans Day holiday. The proceeds from sponsorships will be distributed to Honor Flight Tristate and the Spring Grove Heritage Foundation.
