Call U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown at (202) 224-2315 and tell him veterans oppose any legislation that would use Veterans Affairs discounted prescription medication pricing to determine Medicare drug pricing.

 

A proposal is being considered in the Senate Finance Committee that could impact the cost of pharmaceuticals purchased by the VA.  The proposal would tie the prices of medicines purchased in Medicare to the deeply discounted prices received by the VA.   This proposal could reduce the VA’s discount, consequently driving up medication prices for veterans.

 

Lowering medication costs for all who rely on the Medicare program is important, but should never be done at the cost of those men and women who have served and sacrificed in uniform.

 

Ohio’s Senator Sherrod Brown is a member of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee, and he needs to hear from veterans on this issue.  Please call Senator Brown’s office today at (202) 224-2315 and urge him to oppose any proposals to use VA medication pricing as a reference for Medicare pricing.
